Tokushima Prefecture: Tokyo Permanent Exhibition of Applied LED Products “Ai Indigo Promotion Month” Special Exhibition
~Ai Indigo Techniques~

Due to its use in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic emblems, ai indigo has garnered more attention.

Awa Ai Indigo was most prominent from the latter half of the Edo period to the Meiji period, and was the largest specialty of Awa (present day Tokushima). With such a cultural background, even in present day Tokushima, many products that incorporate ai indigo are being developed. During this exhibition, which lines up with the Ai Indigo Promotion Month, the thoughts and passion of producers shown through their products, and the charm and skill needed to create said products, will be on display.
