Speaking of LED, it’s Tokushima!

In December 2005, Tokushima Prefecture formulated the “LED Valley Concept,” which aims to create a “cluster of light (lighting) industries using LEDs, the light source of the 21st century,” and is working toward the formation of a center for the accumulation of factories and research institutes, the training of advanced engineers, and the research and development of advanced technologies.

In 2010, the goal of “accumulation of 100 LED-related companies” was achieved. Among these companies are LED lighting fixture manufacturers garnering attention for their contributions to energy conservation, sign display manufacturers, and material/component device manufacturers supporting the future enhancement of LED performance. Moreover, there are manufacturers exploring new applications such as plant factories, as well as those in fields like image processing/measurement devices and illumination. This has resulted in a variety of products and technologies being available.
